The majority of Dublin Fire Brigade members have voted in favour of strike action following a dispute with Dublin City Council senior management.
Dublin City Council want to outsource Dublin Fire Brigade Emergency Medical Service’s ambulance call and dispatch function which has resulted in these disputes.
93% of SIPTU firefighters voted in favour of strike in a ballot in Liberty Hall this morning.
“Our members have given an emphatic mandate to the SIPTU DFB Strike Committee to take whatever industrial measures are required to resist the attempts to break-up the Emergency Medical Service,” said SIPTU Sector Organiser, Brendan O’Brien.
