Dublin’s music scene has been absolutely deadly as of late.

Booker T. Jones plays Vicar Street tonight, festival line-ups are only getting better and even our Eurovision entry is a bit of a banger.

But, this latest announcement is set to interest a particular type of music and cinema fan indeed. A new concert tour celebrating the Harry Potter films is set to feature the RTÉ Concert Orchestra performing, to picture, every note from Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone film.

Audiences will be able to relive the magic of the film in high-definition on a 40-foot screen while hearing the orchestra perform John Williams’ unforgettable score.

Justin Freer, President of CineConcerts and Producer/Conductor of The Harry Potter Film Concert Series explains:

“The Harry Potter film series is one of those once-in-a-lifetime cultural phenomena that continues to delight millions of fans around the world. It is with great pleasure that we introduce for the first time ever an opportunity to experience the award-winning music scores played live by an orchestra, all while the beloved film is simultaneously projected onto the big screen. It will be an unforgettable event.”

And you should expect a little something like this…

The gig is on the night of May 23 the 3Arena.

Tickets are priced at anywhere from: €54.65 – €76.00. And while they are pricey, we imagine that this is going to be insanely cool.
