According to theJournal.ie, the HSE is currently seeking a provider to operate the 18-month pilot service in Dublin.
The facility will operate via a licence under the Misuse of Drugs (Supervised Injecting Facilities) Act 2017 and aims to:
The facility will be a "clean, safe, healthcare environment where people can inject drugs, obtained elsewhere, under the supervision of trained health professionals”, according to the HSE.
