Look At The Absolute State Of Ranelagh Gardens Today – What Is Wrong With People?

aidan

It’s a well documented fact that Irish people lose the run of themselves when the sun shines.

And that’s fantastic – nothing quite beats the buzz of Dublin under cloudless skies, and seldom does the city ever look better.

So why do some people insist on ruining it?

Seriously.

Who goes somewhere as absolutely perfect as Ranelagh Gardens, basks in the blazing sunshine and breathes in all those lovely summery vibes, then sees that the bin is full, and just thinks: “Oh grand so, I’ll just fuck my rubbish on to the ground instead of carrying it literally 50 metres to the next bin.”?

Obviously this is just one example, but it happens every time the sun comes out – from the parts of the canal where people chill with cans, to seaside towns, and right throughout what’s supposed to be our gorgeous city.

Argue all you like that the council should have emptied the bin; you’d have a point, to be fair. But it doesn’t change the fact that a little bit of personal responsibility, and just the tiniest bit of pride in this city we all claim to love, would go a long way.
