Molly Malone Is Staying Put At St Andrew’s Church

Dublin's most photographed statue, Molly Malone, has officially found her final resting place, and is staying put exactly where she is.

The iconic figure was moved from Grafton Street to St Andrew's Church back in 2013 to facilitate the Luas Cross City Works.

According to 98fm, councillors at a meeting of the Arts, Culture and Recreation Committee decided today that she will stay in her current location.

They argued that Molly's current location has proved to be a great success, and has offered a great opportunity for tourists to take photographs.

This proposal also suggested that there was no longer a suitable or safe enough location on Grafton Street for the sculpture after the new Luas tracks have been laid.
