If you don’t fancy sitting in traffic on the way to Blanchardstown or Dundrum in the near future then Norwegian Air is offering a fairly unusual alternative.
According to the Irish Times, the airline is hoping to roll out one-day shopping trips to popular outlet centre Woodbury Common in Central Valley, New York which boasts over 200 stores including Tommy Hilfiger, Fendi and Armani to name but a few.
The plan is for flights to take off from Dublin at 8:30am, arriving in Stewart Airport at 10:30am US east coast time. A shuttle bus would then take shoppers to Woodbury Common before returning to the airport three hours ahead of an evening flight back to Dublin. Sure you’d be over and back as quick as you’d get into Dublin city, says you.
The new flights are part of Norwegians Air’s plan to double their services from Dublin to Stewart to twice a day from April 26. Stewart is 96km outside New York City and has road and rail connections.
