Ouch – A Tourism Expert Has Described Dublin As A Total Rip-Off

Alana Laverty

Can we really argue with this one?

International tourism expert, Professor Michael Hall from the University of Canterbury, New Zealand, is saying that he would “never, ever recommend anyone to come to Dublin for a short break” as it’s a total rip-off.

He was horrified when he went to book a hotel for a Saturday night in Dublin to find that one, single night would cost him €400.

At a tourism conference in Sligo yesterday Hall also claimed that global media coverage of issues such as our blasphemy laws and reports of historical abuse by religious orders and state institutions hurts Ireland’s image.

He also mentioned the serious delays at passport control in Dublin.

Tell me about it.
