While there seems to be a grand stretch in the evenings, and the mornings are certainly getting brighter, the weather doesn’t seem to be getting any warmer just yet.
According to Met Éireann the highest temperatures we can expect today are between 3 to 6 degrees Celsius…
Very cold this morning with severe frost and icy stretches only slowly clearing the province and possibly lingering into the afternoon in some sheltered places. Good sunshine throughout the day and dry apart from the odd light wintry shower in the north. Highest temperatures of only 3 to 6 degrees Celsius in light variable breezes. Frost will quickly set in again after dark.
Tonight will be cold at first with widespread frost and icy stretches on untreated surfaces. Lowest temperatures between minus 1 to plus 2 degrees Celsius. However, cloud will thicken from the west and southerly winds will strengthen, clearing the frost later in the night.
