UPDATE: Searsons Have Made A Big Change To Their Controversial Paul O’Connell Poster

You might have read this story last week about a banner outside Searsons of Baggot Street, featuring a mocked-up graphic of Paul O’Connell lifting the Webb Ellis Cup.

We said at the time it was tempting fate – and sure enough, as things transpired, the Irish captain suffered a devastating injury during our win against France, and was officially ruled out of the World Cup yesterday.

But today, according to a photo sent to us by Katie Murphy, the pub’s marketing crew have backed down and replaced the captain’s face with a massive question mark and the words ‘Let’s Dream The Dream’.

For the purpose of comparison, this was the original version of the banner… which, to be fair, would have been hailed as utter genius had we gone and won the thing with Paulie at the helm.
