We Love This Secret Dublin Cocktail Bar So Much That We Don’t Even Wanna Tell You About It

Alana Laverty

We’ve no doubt you’ve passed this place more times than you can count.

And maybe, if you’re super in-the-know, you’ve eaten here, or even discovered its cocktail bar.

But we like to think that Delahunt’s upstairs cocktail bar, The Sitting Room, is our lil secret… and until now we’ve slyly avoided ever writing about just how gorge it is out of fear of never getting a table ever again.

However, we’re in the giving mood today, and wanna share this tiny, beautiful gem on Camden Street with all of you.

Accessed via a teensy, unsuspecting, hidden mirrored-door beside the restaurant’s beautiful main bar, get ready to enter the gloomy and mysterious stairway of the stunning old Victorian building.

Four years ago the crew behind Delahunt took what was a run-down off-licence and restored it into one of the most elegant and distinguished buildings in all of Dublin over the space of a year. It has been meticulously designed down to the very last detail.

You can’t walk down Camden Street without noticing its distinctive and classic bay window viewing point.

It’s fitting that what was once a vendor of alcohol now serves some of the best, bespoke cocktails in Dublin.

It’s a truly special spot.

The Sitting Room boasts a small, carefully thought out cocktail menu that changes regularly but also serves the usual classics too.

You can also get some nibbles to go with your dreamy cocktails up in The Cocktail Bar, such as seasonal sharing boards with meats and cheeses or Delahunt’s signature home-smoked salmon.

The Sitting Room is open Tuesday to Saturday from 5pm, however, they don’t take bookings as the bar works on a first-come, first-serve basis.

You can also rent out the whole cocktail bar, depending on availability – so get in touch if you’ve something special in the works.

You can find The Sitting Room upstairs in Delahunt at 39 Camden Street Lower, Dublin.
