There’s been chaos for commuters this morning as gale force winds and torrential rain hit Dublin.
The south bore of the Port Tunnel was temporarily closed this morning and traffic is still being restricted which is causing severe delays.
Sadly the worst is yet to come as Storm Diana won’t actually arrive until tonight, though winds are expected to reach 110km/h today.

The Garda Traffic account tweeted, ‘Traffic is being metered into southbound bore of Port Tunnel due to restrictions at the Port. Motorists advised to use alternative routes.
‘As a result, traffic is heavy entering and exiting the tunnel's busiest along the Grand Canal eastbound from Harold's Cross to Ranelagh Rd.’
Marlay Park is also closed until further notice due to the yellow wind warning.

Yellow wind and rain weather warnings are in place until 2pm and Met Éireann has confirmed that orange warnings could be issued on Wednesday when Storm Diana arrives.
Met Éireann said, ‘Very wet and very blustery in most places this morning, with heavy downpours of rain, gales and severe gusts.
‘Some spot flooding locally also. But brighter less windy weather with showers, already in the southwest will extend up across the country gradually. Top temps 8 to 12C.’
