You Need To Visit This Truly Lovely Brunch Spot Today

Alana Laverty

Feeling a bit indecisive about where to head for brunch today?

I mean, it’s a huge decision. You really can’t afford to be just rushing into anything.

That’s where we come in.

We’re making all the tough decisions easier for you.

Yep, you’re welcome.

Today, our dear friends, you’re headed to the Vanilla Pod in Carrickmines.

Opened in 2011 by Kate O’Sullivan, Derek Breen and Veronica Muresan (from the old Brown Thomas café), the aim at Vanilla Pod was to provide great, wholesome food at an affordable price in a cool, casual, urban, contemporary and fun setting.

And let us tell you – they nail the above, perfectly.

And the cherry on top of the cake?

Their customer service.

Visiting the Vanilla Pod is like meeting up with friends – the staff great you with open arms and smiles, they’re as friendly as it gets.

As for the food? We’re already drooling just at the thought.

Expect crispy pulled pork with hash, french toast, buttermilk pancakes, avo and poached eggs on toast, eggs Benny and eggs Royale and, our personal favourite, sauté wild mushrooms with poached eggs, spinach, black pudding and parmesan bake on toasted sourdough.

Brunch on Saturdays is served from 9am and from 10am on Sundays.

Find them at The Iveagh Mall, Carrickmines, Dublin 18.
