This Dublin poitín bar is showing the rugby this morning

Sarah Finnan

At a loss for where to watch the ruby? Don’t worry, there are plenty of places across the city showing the match this morning.

Amongst them bar 1661, a poitín bar on Green Street in Dublin 7.

Described as “a place dedicated to unique statements of Irish origin”, it’s the spot to be to watch Ireland take on New Zealand.

With screenings starting from as early as 8am they even have a speciality cocktail menu with drinks to celebrate each country. Maybe have some breakfast first though. Bottomless tea and coffee to set you up for the day too, in case you need to warm up before turning to alcohol.

Though their infamous Belfast Coffee combines the best of both; mixing cold-pressed Two Fifty Square Coffee and Bán Poitín. An unusual take on a classic Irish Coffee.

Looks delicious though.

Irish manager Joe Schmidt has named an experienced team ahead of the quarter-final showdown but we’ll no doubt have our work cut out for us if we’re to come out on top.

COYBIG!
