Sometimes I can be guilty of visiting the same haunts week in and week out- usually my own neighbourhood or the city centre at the weekends. Dublin city has so many beautiful villages, neighbourhoods and streets that are worth exploring. We sat down two weeks ago and decided we needed to showcase all the different areas in the city in their full glory. We wanted to capture their soul, their people, and of course the best places to eat.

We hope you're as excited as we are for our new weekly feature which will be published every Monday. Photographer Derek Kennedy, who has been contributing every week via his Dublindaily blog, has been travelling the city shooting different neighbourhoods and what they have to offer. Scroll down below to have a look at the edgy neighbourhood of Stoneybatter and our favourite places to eat there. Our picks are

  • L. Mulligan & Grocer for craft beers and incredible gastro pub food.
  • Slice for one of the best breakfasts in the city and of course a slice of cake.
  • Love Supreme is owned by Ken and Katie Flood, and brings together the creations of our favourite cake maker Kate Packwood of the Wildflour Bakery and also coffee by the wonderful aficionados of Roasted Brown.
  • Lilliput Stores which is an incredible little deli selling the most delicious cheeses, meats, breads, cakes, chocolate... Pretty much everything!

I hope this new feature inspires you to explore every inch of the city!
