One of the easiest and cheapest ways to exercise is to go for a jog.
Unfortunately, while jogging is easy in the sense that no equipment is required bar your own two feet, it can be ridiculously hard to drag yourself off your bed and start running.
I know. I've been there.
But when you find that jogging route, the one that makes you excited about leaving your house, it makes all the difference.
We've rounded up some of the best jogging routes in Dublin, which will have you lacing up your runners before you know it.
You can take your pick of routes to follow in the Phoenix Park, but we tried, tested and survived this one in particular.

Another option for the fitties amongst you is a run down Sandymount Strand.

If you're feeling very adventurous, you can follow the Grand Canal all the way to Shannon Harbour, or you could run until you can't anymore and then turn back around again - also respectable.

Get away from the city and go for a little jog in Lucan, alongside the River Liffey and the surrounding trees.
Distract yourself from the impending stitch in your side by looking at the insane views of Dublin Bay that this route gives you.

Not the quietest of routes perhaps but if you time it right, you can get in a few good laps before the crowds pile in.

If you manage to handle this route, you can always reward yourself with a Teddy's ice-cream. You deserve it.

You don't have to run the whole seven acres of this park, but you can run alongside the River Tolka for some authentic nature soundtrack.
A popular route for many runners is the Bray to Greystones route. Hop on the DART and start your run alongside the water. Gorge.

This short route will lead you through Dalkey and Killiney Hill, and through surfaced paths and wooded areas.

Starting from Dublin or Howth itself, take a lap around Howth Head if that tickles your fancy.
