For those of you who are looking for the best of the best food, Dillinger's is the one for you. Situated in the heart of Ranelagh Village, their American-influenced food is not at all precious. It’s fun, punchy, generous and all about flavour. Really satisfies those hangover cravings.

4. Herbstreet

Known throughout Dublin as having the best pancakes the world has ever known, Herbstreet has made quite the name for itself in recent months.

Brunch is served here until the admirable time of 4pm (ideal for the truly hungover), with a menu to die for. Their full Irish is a thing of beauty, with grilled McCarren family bacon, sausage, scrambled free range eggs, Tournafulla black pudding, corned beef hash, roast tomato and multiseed spelt bread, and the option to add baked beans.
