This weekend, we're in the wonderful position of having glorious weather to prance around in. How ideal!
And any prancer worth their salt knows that floating around in killer weather is the sort of work that works up an appetite. You'll need to plan ahead and sort yourself out in one of the many magnificent cafés our little city has to offer.
Perhaps one of these fine establishments will tickle your fancy...
1. Accents
Accents is a dreamy little spot located on Stephen's Street Lower (which we named cosiest café in Dublin), where you can go to escape the hubbub of city living. Their cakes and confectionary are to die for, with the added bonus being that you can claim a free slice of cake on your birthday.
Their hot chocolates are also among the best in Dublin, so that's a little extra sweetener for you.
2. The Dublin Cookie Co.
The Dublin Cookie Co. is the brainchild of American-Irish duo Jenny and Elaine. Like any good baker, they've been at it for as long as they can remember. They believe they have the recipe for the best chocolate chip cookies ever.
We're pretty sure they've cracked it. I mean, just look at these bad boys...
3. Pupp
Dublin's premier dog café, and one of our favourite spots, Pupp is the haven dog owners and dog lovers have been dreaming of.
And their welcoming attitude to canines isn't all, their food is also to die for. Specifically their 'Eggsuvious' bacon roll, complete with runny egg. So many boxes ticked!
4. Queen of Tarts
Queen of Tarts themselves, owners Regina and Yvonne Fallon trained as pastry chefs in New York City in the 1990s, returning home to Ireland to establish and run their own café. They knew what they wanted: to create a homely and welcoming space which offered the best breakfasts and weekend brunch in Dublin – and that's exactly what they did.
Visiting here is a must for anyone who enjoys food, and even more so if you enjoy the buzz of a busy café.
5. The Cake Café
The Cake Café is a bakery and café in the Daintree Building, which stretches from Camden Street to Pleasants Place.
Its leafy courtyard acts as a little sanctuary in the middle of a bustling city. And their cakes are no joke. Treat yo' self after a long week with one of their sumptuous confectionaries.
Your life will be changed forever. Trust us.

A Skort by Any Other Name On a humid afternoon this weekend at St Peregrine’s GAA Club Blanchardstown, west of Dublin, thirty camogie players took the field not in the sport’s traditional skorts, but in shorts. They weren’t in war paint or waving placards but they may as as well have been. The Kilkenny and […]

At the core of the problem is a pattern all too familiar in public transport systems: big-picture ambition undercut by everyday mismanagement. What happened in Dublin over the past six months […]
