Going back to work after a long weekend is hard, so take your mind off it by planning your next trip away. With these options, you could be away again next Friday.
But with weekends as short as they are, you don't want to roam too far. I mean, a trip to Cork, Kerry or even Lahinch would be amazing, but sometimes that drives seems too long for a two night stay and is probably better suited to a bank holiday weekend.
So if you're trying to get the most out of your weekends, why not look closer to home? Luckily Dublin's perched right on the coast, surrounded by plenty seaside getaways that you can drive to in less than an hour.

Just look at that view. You can't beat being able to run down the end of the garden after breakfast to spend the day on the beach. Granted you'll need the weather for the beach, but some cans and a good ol' game of lava floor should make any rainy afternoon pass by in record time.
This bright, airy house in North County Dublin is the perfect couple's getaway. Located right beside Skerries for plenty of long walks, bags of salt and vinegary chips, and some swimming or kayaking if you're feeling brave.
I mean, how frickin' cool would it be to stay in a lighthouse for a few days? This sleeps four people, and the kitchen fittings even go around in a circle to match the structure of the building. You'd wanna make sure you get nice weather for this one though, because sleeping in a giant tower in the middle of a storm could be terrifying.

However, the winner has to be the upstairs deck housed in the crown of the tower, which looks like a gorgeous spot to retire to after dinner as night falls.
Anyone for a spot of al fresco dining? This gaff sleeps four, and is nicely tucked away so you'll probably have the whole beach to yourself. There's plenty of outdoor pursuits for a bit of an active getaway with hiking, hill walking, and horseback riding all nearby. A bit of sun on that veranda would be just dreamy.
You can't get much closer to the beach than this. The North Beach is definitely Rush's best kept secret, with most visitors hitting up the South Beach and leaving plenty of sand for those in the know. Imagine having a BBQ and beers looking out to Rockabill Lighthouse and Lambay Island, then clearing your head the next day with a cliff walk to the Martello Tower nearby. Unbelievable.
