You won't need to worry about parking spaces or bike chains anymore: this new transportation device is small and light enough to fit in your backpack.
Created by Japanese engineer Kuniako Saito, the 'WalkCar' is battery-powered, the size of a laptop and can hold weight of up to 265 pounds.
The mini transportation device requires three hours to charge and can perform speeds of 6.2 to 7.4 miles per hour. WalkCar's 26-year-old creator spoke to Reuters about his invention:
I thought, 'what if we could just carry our transportation in our bags, wouldn't that mean we'd always have our transportation with us to ride on?' and my friend asked me to make one, since I was doing my masters in engineering specifically on electric car motor control systems.

Saito says WalkCars can be reserved from autumn 2015 on the crowd-funding website Kickstarter. The machine will cost around 100,000 Japanese Yen (roughly €730). It's hoped shipping will begin by spring 2016.
