The DSPCA Doggies That Need Some Lovin Homes

emmakenneally

The Lovin Dublin team are huge animal lovers, so after meeting the incredible team over in DSPCA we knew we wanted to work together to highlight the amazing animals up for adoption each week. The DSPCA work with animals who have suffered cruelty, neglect, injury or sickness. Their shelter in Rathfarnham offers shelter and care to a wide variety of animals, most of whom need new homes. The centre is open 7 days a week to the public, and we hope that some of you who are planning on getting a pet, will visit the home this weekend to meet some of these beauties. Have a look at the handsome dogs that this week are up for adoption, they seem like real characters!

Troy

1_Troy_pic

Troy is  a 4 year old Retriever German Shepherd Cross. He’s a handsome man who needs a home with another dog or two so that he can run and play with them. He can be quite strong on the lead but he walks well on a non-pull harness. He’s house trained and loves people and other dogs. He would suit a family with teenagers because he can get a bit over-enthusiastic with his cuddles!

Zara

Zara is a 1.5 year old Rottweiler. She is a sweet, confident, happy girl who would make a great pet for a family with children 16+. She would be great at training classes because she loves to please… and love her treats! She’s great with other dogs too.

Jake

Jake is a 2 year old Terrier Cross. He can be quite strong on the lead but he walks well on a non-pull harness. He’s house trained and loves people and other dogs. He would suit an active family as he loves to walk and would happily do 3 walks a day!

Heidi

Heidi is a happy 8 month old pointer cross. She was found wandering in the mountains all alone. She’s an enthusiastic young lady with boundless energy and the most wonderful wiggly dance skills! She would suit a family with children 10+ because she could knock over smaller kiddies. She would make a fabulous family pet for a very active family who love outdoor activities.

Roy

Roy is a beautiful 1 year old brindle and white male Lurcher. He’s a very sweet boy, although he can be a little shy to start with. He loves other dogs and loves to play chasing! Like all Lurchers, once he has a big run around he loves nothing more than snoozing on the couch, or the floor, or your bed! He would suit a family with children 6+, with or without other dogs but wouldn’t be suitable for cats or small furries; they are fun to chase!

PJ

PJ is a 10 month old whippet cross. He’s a friendly little man and loves other dogs. He would make a great family pet for a home with children 6+, with or without other dogs! He would be great at training classes and would love to try agility training too!

If you are interested in adopting any of the dogs above from the DSPCA then please come and visit the shelter. The DSPCA is located at Mount Venus Road, Rathfarnham, Dublin 16.
