George’s Quay Is About To Get An Absolutely Massive Mural

Live in the city centre?

Well, from today on, you’re in for a animal-themed treat. 

A huge red squirrel is about to be created on the wall adjacent to the Workshop Gastro Pub on George’s Quay, and no, we’re not kidding. 

Portuguese artist Artur Bordalo is the brains behind the art-installation, adding to his internationally-acclaimed art series, Trash Animals.

According to The Dublin Inquirer, Bordalo and his team have been collecting waste items to turn them into incredible works, that appear in animal form. 

The Portugese artist admitted that as first it was a learning curve dealing with Dublin City Council to get permission to put up the giant squirrel, but Independent Councillors like Mannix Flynn were very keen to see something ”wacky” like this taking centre stage in the city centre. 

According to Dublin City Council, the presentation will be there until September. But could well end up residing on the wall of the Workshop Pub for much longer than that…
