People Are Complaining In Droves About How Irish Weather Women Are Dressed

Meteorological news site Met Éireann received a massive 78 complaints from members of the public between the start of this year and November 1.

And people’s complaint of choice? 

Not their incorrect information, their misleading openings or anything of that matter – it is in fact the fashion choices of some of the presenters. No, really. 

One can hardly believe that we are having the coldest weather at the moment by the way the female presenters are dressed. It looks so ridiculous.

Another disgruntled watcher said: 

“I find Met Éireann reports more glamour orientated”, than focused on the weather.

These complaints have recently been released to Newstalk under the Freedom of Information Act.

However, there were some complaints that weren’t based around their dress sense. Some were about getting the forecast so bloody wrong.

A message sent back in May said:

Boy, did you guys get the weather for the weekend wrong. 19 and 20 degrees and sunny?? Stick to the day job and trying to win the Lotto.

And finally, other keen weather watchers were terribly annoyed at Dublin being given a special slot on the Met Éireann website, alongside the four provinces.

One angry watcher said: “Since when is Dublin a region? Are the Dubs now considered the fifth province?”

And on a more pressing issue, a fisherman made a complaint about inaccuracies, claiming they put lives at risk at sea.

I can see no reason why you continue to announce forecasts that (are) so abysmally incorrect. As master on board I make decisions affecting many lives based on your careless forecasting.

And finally, some of the complaints were just plain pedantic:

One reads: “Disappointment at the face that ye keep referring to May 1st as Spring. May 1st is the first day of summer. I expect a response to this query”
