Hope you guys got binoculars for Christmas, as tonight's going to be a big one for budding astronomers.
The planet Venus is set to move closer to the moon tonight, resulting in it being 100 times shinier than the biggest star in the sky.
Well, we've got just the thing.
Astronomy Ireland will be setting up giant telescopes at its headquarters in Rosemount Business Park, Blanchardstown for anyone who wants a gander. And they're totally free as of 7pm.
David Moore, editor of Astronomy Ireland magazine said:
"Everyone in Ireland can plainly see this sight with the naked eye. Indeed, a quick glance at the Moon between sunset and 9pm will immediately raise eyebrows as this brilliant object (the planet Venus) has been this close to the Moon so high in the sky for a very long time and this will be the closest they will get all year.
"We cannot emphasise enough how spectacular this sight will be tonight! Not only this, but just to the upper left of Venus is another less bright 'object' which is in fact the planet Mars. So, there are three celestial bodies in close alignment tonight making the event even more remarkable."
As well as that, the International Space Station is also soon set to be flying above Dublin tonight - meaning the sky will be quite the sight to behold tonight.
