Drumcondra is a true jewel in the crown that is Dublin's city centre. A hub of activity, be it food, drink or craic.
We thought it was about time we racked up a list of some of the places you have to hit up when you're in the area. Treat yo' self to some of the best and brightest the wonderful neighbourhood of Drumcondra has to offer.
1. Fagan's Pub
Right in the heart of Drumcondra is the famous pub that is Fagan's. Named time and again as the best pub on the northside, Fagan's has nailed the perfect pub atmosphere, with stellar food, drink, service and feel. It's also a pretty good looking pub, if we do say so ourselves.
The most divine little spot on the Lower Drumcondra Road. Bread and Butter boast an amazing range of artisan products, one of the best hot chocolates you'll ever taste and the servers are genuinely good craic.
Owned by the same small team behind The Lovely Food Company restaurants, these guys know good food.
3. Independent Pizza Company
The Independent Pizza Company is your friendly neighbourhood joint where you can get yourself some truly dreamy thin-based pizzas at ridiculously affordable prices.
They use a proper authentic woodstone oven (regarded the best in the world, no big deal), imported all the way in from the States.
4. Restaurant 104
What was originally know as The Cheese Pantry, Restaurant 104 is Drumcondra's newest haunt, bringing cracking food to the masses. Under the same management and staff, you won't have to worry at all about the establishment losing their charm.
It boasts a thorough menu, with something for everyone – and bread and butter pudding to die for.
5. Il Corvo
Il Corvo, situated right in the middle of Drumcondra, is the Italian restaurant of your dreams. Utilising the best of Italy and the fresh Dublin catches of the day together beautifully, they have a menu to die for.
The staff are the sweetest, making you feel at home from the minute you walk in the door. One visit and you're hooked.
6. Anderson's Creperie
The perfect spot to hit up on a lazy Sunday morning, Anderson's is the best place in Drumcondra, and maybe Dublin, to get your authentic French crepe fix. The servers are a dream, the crepes are light but filling and all round atmosphere is just the dreamiest.
All allergens are adhered to in here too, which is a nice touch. And if crepes aren't your thing, they also do a wide range of super tasty sandwiches.

A Skort by Any Other Name On a humid afternoon this weekend at St Peregrine’s GAA Club Blanchardstown, west of Dublin, thirty camogie players took the field not in the sport’s traditional skorts, but in shorts. They weren’t in war paint or waving placards but they may as as well have been. The Kilkenny and […]

The once-reliable rail line is now making people late, miserable, and poor. For months now, regular passengers have faced delays, confusion, crowding, and rising fares. Remember 2007? Every Irish Leaving Cert oral exam was essentially a panic attack punctuated by shaky mentions of “cúlú eacnamaíochta.” Now, the discourse is back but 2025-ified. Instead of being pumped into us via well meaning language teachers, this time it is fuelled by TikTok sleuths dissecting every minor inconvenience as proof we’re already in […]
A survival guide for the tragically trendy now being bullied by signage. So. It’s sunny. You’ve got your tiny sunglasses on, your €17 graphic tee is cropped just enough to show the tattoo you got in a moment of heartbreak, and your Sambas have barely touched grass. You’ve done your civic duty and supported a […]
Waking up at 5AM is slightly more tolerable when there’s the Best Sunrise Views in Dublin and the opportunity to flex on main. There’s a specific kind of person who voluntarily wakes up at sunrise. They’re either spiritually awakened, deeply anxious, on a wellness bender, or just trying to feel something before the workday starts. […]
