Need a new series to binge-watch? The Bridge is your guy. It’s an Scandinavian crime series set in Denmark and Sweden. The storyline centres around a body which is found on a bridge smack bang in the middle of the border between Denmark and Sweden. Due to the placement of the corpse, two detectives must work on the case – one is Swedish, the other is Danish; and what initially appears to be a simple murder mystery turns out to be a whole lot more complicated. An English version of this show has been made, but the original is miles better, you just have to get used to the subtitiles at the start.

The show would be up there with the likes of True Detective, and makes for seriously addictive viewing. Just be warned – there are two full seasons on Netflix, so you may emerge in a week’s time having watched every single episode but having lost all contact with the real world.
