So The Sunday Times’ annual Rich List isn’t put before the public eye until Sunday, but one of the most popular categories, the ‘Richest Music Millionaires’, has been revealed early.
The Irish names rolling it in won’t totally surprise you, with Van Morrison (€64 million), Enya (€117 million) and U2 (€641 million) raking it in amongst the head honchos in the top 50. U2 earned a massively impressive €88 million last year, with big thanks going to their 76 date ‘Innocence + Experience’ world tour.
In the top spot, Paul McCartney and his wife Nancy Shevell are the clear winners with a combined wealth of €974 million, with a casual €38 million of that coming from the past year alone.
Not far behind the McCarthy power duo is adopted Irish man Michael Flatley at #7, with a staggering €254 million to fall back on. Not bad for a guy who dances around for a living.
