Here's bumper selection of movies to watch over the next week to coincide with the indecisive weather!
Brought to you by the guys behind the excellent film podcast, Storybreakers, which sees a new film plot workshopped and completed each week, Filmbase plays host to a dramatic live reading of the script for the scrapped 1998 film, Superman Lives.
With its controversial production soon to be chronicled in the documentary ‘The Death of Superman Lives: What Happened?’, this live read offers a once off opportunity to get a sense of what the Tim Burton directed, Nicolas Cage starring film could have been.
Costumes are very much encouraged, and all proceeds go towards The Friends of St. Mary’s Charity.
While it might seem a predictable choice after last week’s IFI Pixar season, this special charity event is well worth your time.
Not alone does it offer a preview screening of the really quite special Inside Out, the screening is being held in an attempt to raise funds in aid of Jack Halpin, one of the seven severely injured in last month’s tragic events in Berkeley, California.
All proceeds from cinema and raffle tickets sold on the night will be donated towards Jack and his family, to assist with any expenses resulting from his injuries.

An adaptation of the emotionally turbulent life of Beach Boys founding member Brian Wilson has been a long time coming; and thankfully with the release of Love & Mercy by Bill Pohlad, we finally have one that’s worthy of the man.
The film hops between the anxious, younger Wilson's turmoil (Paul Dano) as he attempts to produce what will go on to become the masterful Pet Sounds, and the older Wilson (John Cusack) a damaged, heavily medicated shell of a man.
Love & Mercy offers a passionate take on a troubled genius, and is an obvious must for any Beach Boys fans.
Anyone who found the sight of James Franco shooting hoops with Kim Jong-Un in The Interview a bit far-fetched would do well to check out Colin Offland’s off-the-wall documentary..
Narrated by Today FM’s Matt Cooper, Big Bang chronicles retired NBA player Dennis Rodman’s trip to North Korea, where he tries to stage a historic basketball game between the two superpowers in an attempt to strengthen US ties with the country.
Following the inevitable press uproar and condemnation from all sides, it quickly becomes apparent that Rodman may not be able to keep it together in time for the big game. This bizarre tale has to be seen to believed.
The screening will be followed by a Q&A with Cooper and Offland.
