This Week’s DSPCA Animals That Need Some Lovin Homes

As you all know, this is our fourth week partnering up with the DSPCA in a bid to help them find some loving homes for these animals! As always if you're interested in any of these animals, or want to find out more about the DSPCA make sure to click the highlighted link above!

1. My name is Freya and I’m a 3 year old Border Collie cross. I came to the DSPCA because my owner could no long look after me. I am a lovely lady with a very sweet personality. I am housetrained and I love to go on long walks. I don’t walk too well on the lead because I am used to being off-leash, so this is something my new owner will need to work on. I am good with other dogs and would suit a family with children 12+, or an adult only home.

2. My name is Wiggles and I’m a 6 month old black Labrador cross. I am a very active and enthusiastic boy with lots of energy. I would be best suited to a fmaily with teenagers, or an adult only home. I need a family who are willing to do training classes with me and work on some of my little issues, such as playbiting and generally being hyper! I can be an excape artist so high walls are a must! Don’t worry though, with work I am going to make a wonderful family pet and make my new owners very happy!

3. My name is Bosco and I’m a 3 year old lurcher. When I came to the DSPCA I was really sick but all the staff took great care of me and now I’m ready to find my new home. I’m a very shy boy and need a quite home with teenagers or adults only. I’m very well behaved. I’m nervous while out walking but once I’m settled and used to my new surroundings I’ll get better. I need a loving home with lots of TLC!

4. My name is Troy and I’m a 4 year old Retriever German Shepherd Cross. I am a handsome man who came into the DSPCA with my best friend Jake to find a new home. I am looking for a home with another dog or two that I can run and play with. I am very strong on the lead so my new owner will need to do some training with me in this area. I am confident and happy in myself so I don’t lick too much, but I am a real love sponge and I love being petted and cuddled. I am very housetrained and I never mess inside. My friend Jake just went to his new home and it is about time I found my forever family. I have so much love to give and there is no reason for me to be in the shelter for this long :(

5. My name is Olivia and I’m a 3 year old Lurcher. I am a sweet lady with a fabulous personality. I came to the DSPCA because I had nobody to look after me and I had a very sore tail. I get on well with some dogs, but I don’t like others. I would be suitable for a home with other male sighthounds. I would like a home with children 16+, or an adult only home. Like all Lurchers, once I have a good walk, I will pretty much sleep for the rest of the day. I am a real lazy lump! I would enjoy doing some training too. I would not be suitable for cats or small furries...they are too much fun to chase. I have been in the shelter a while now for no reason. I would really love a home this summer. Looking to add a new friend to your sighthound pack? I’m your girl!

6. Guy...I am a true gentleman with 16 years of experience in being awesome! Despite my age (which, by the way, is just a number!), I have a splendid shiny coat, black and white as fashion dictates. My story is a sad, but unfortunately very common one: my owners lost interest in me and they left me without food and shelter. My coat was badly matted and, instead of getting a good brushing, the fur was actually pulled from my skin. Lucky for me, a kind neighbour took me under his wing and took me to the DSPCA to find the loving home I truly deserve. I am a purr machine, I love food and treats. Will you give me a second chance in life?

7. Snowdrop...when this beautiful girl came to the DSPCA back in February, she was in a very sorry state. She had been straying for a long time and was painfully thin and quite sick. For weeks she would not lift her head and we thought she had given up on life. After weeks of lots of veterinary care and lots of TLC this little girl slowly started to come round. Snowdrop is now out on foster with our wonderful volunteer Elisa, as she finds shelter life too stressful. We are delighted to say that she has blossomed into a healthy and affectionate little cat. We desperately want to find a new permanent home for this very special girl... she so deserves it after all she’s been through. She gets on ok with male cats but not females.
