It’s disgracefully damp and dreary out there; few things will cheer us up but food never fails.
You might not make it out for a walk this evening but you know that cafés and restaurants will always be a cosy spot to take shelter.
Here are seven dishes that are worth trekking through the wind and rain for:
1. Croque Madame – Groundstate Coffee
Groundstate has been getting rave reviews left right and centre.
This delectable brunch sambo is made from Bread Nation sourdough, Higgins thick cut ham, Dijon mustard, loaded with a creamy parmesan & Irish white cheddar béchamel, and topped with an egg and a side of kimchi.

2. Bao Bun – Shelbourne Social
We checked out Shelbourne Social this week and as much as we wanted to hate it we ended up kind of loving it.
This is a lemon sole, herbs and sriracha mayonnaise in a caramelised bao bun.

5. Taster Menu – Host
With some of the freshest and tastiest pasta around, this lil foodie cocoon must be tried.
Top quality stuff.

6. Peanut Butter Brownies – Hopsack
Not an ounce of flour – not even a sign of spelt!
The Hopsack is a favourite amongst Lovin Dublin staff and their brownies are a force to be reckoned with. Made with black beans, this gives them a unique and original flavour and texture.
7. Seafood Chowder – Octopussy
The best place to eat seafood is by the sea; you know your food hasn’t travelled far to be on your plate.
Octopussy in Howth serves some of the best seafood chowder we’ve ever tucked into.
