There are probably a lot of Dubliners who are fragile today.
We sure do know how to celebrate and rightly so after our big win yesterday.
If you’re heading along to the “homecoming” of the triumphant Boys In Blue in Smithfield Plaza this evening you may fancy having a decent bite to eat and have a few scoops beforehand. After all, we’re sure a fair amount of you have taken the day off today!
Let’s face it, a juicy burger, chips and a pint is the perfect way to nurse a hangover.
Here are 6 places you should check out for some nibbles and drinks ahead of another night of celebrations.
1. The Generator Hostel
Sure this place is basically just around the corner so if you want to get someone quite close to the big celebration, this is a hot spot to be.
The Generator Hostel is located at Smithfield Square and they serve up some delicious burgers. They’re always a big hit.
Just look at some of the monster sized burgers.
We’re drooling…
The quirky venue also has a range of drinks at its hip and trendy bar, we are sure it’s going to be busy being so central so make sure to head down early.
We particularly love their light-shade in the bar.
Can we have one?
2. Token
The popular Dublin arcade Token in Smithfield is always a hit for a decent night out.
To make it even better, they announced some amazing news last week about a bargain you can bag yourself on a Monday and Tuesday.
And luckily today is Monday so hooray!
The venue of great food, drink and games is a place you must check out and you’ll more than likely end up becoming a regular, like myself.
You can get yourself any main, any regular side, any pint and a sack of 10 tokens for just €19.95 tonight.
If that doesn’t convince you to check it out, maybe pictures of the food will.
3. My Meat Wagon
This is the place to go if you’re a true big meat fan. The name alone should tell you that!
My Meat Wagon in Smithfield is the restaurant where meat lovers dreams come true.
They have a lot of dishes that you’ll just want to try all of them, so you’ll definitely be back.
You can never go wrong with wings and a few pints.
4. The Glimmer Man
The pub in the Stoneybatter is always a hot spot for locals and it’s very close to the big homecoming celebrations this evening.
The Glimmer Man is a quirky bar in the heart of the city and is a cool spot to check out for a few drinks.
We wouldn’t mind chilling here beforehand…
5. Frank Ryan’s
The bar is located right beside the Luas stop in Smithfield so can you really get any closer to the action?
The renowned Frank Ryan’s is a hip spot for Dubliners and they do amazing pizza.
It’s really the ultimate hangover cure.
If you fancy a slice and a decent pint, you know where to go.
6. Thundercut Alley
If you’re looking for a mouth-watering meal Thundercut Alley in Smithfield is a pretty hot spot.
From chicken and flatbreads to delicious in-house cocktails you are bound to have a scrumptious time.
The food almost looks too good to eat!
Will you check any of these places out?
