There’s something about miserable weather that just removes every shred of motivation that we have.
The thought of spending an hour in the kitchen on an evening like this is not tempting in the slightest, so the only answer is to treat ourselves to a bit of good old comfort food.
Forget the healthy salads, tonight is all about warming curries and tasty stir-fries – with a few Nutella pancakes for dessert!
Pork Belly Buns – Bread & Bones
Tasty buns full of pork belly, peanuts, scallions and teriyaki. The dream.
Chilli Masala – Namaste
If you like a bit of a kick to your Indian, then you can’t go wrong with this dish from Namaste. They also have a €9.99 daily special that comes with naan and rice – it would feed two people easily.
Massaman Curry – Diep
Peanuts and spuds? It doesn’t get much more comforting than that. We’ve tried a good few of these but the Diep one definitely gets the thumbs up.
Shaking Beef – Opium
Carmelised beef fillet, chillis and soy with some gorgeous fluffy rice. Yes please!
3 Meat Combo – Pitt Bros BBQ South
Absolutely starving? You can’t go wrong with this brisket, pork and chicken combo that comes with two side orders. We recommend Hush Puppies and Burnt End Beans.
Burrata Napoletana – La Caverna
Pasta with rich Italian tomato sauce, fresh chilli, garlic and herbs topped with delicious burrata cheese. Or a bowl of delicious risotto!
Chowder Pot – Catch 22
The food equivalent of a hug. There is nothing more comforting than a good bowl of chowder and some brown bread. Nom.
