One Of Our Favourite Coffee Shops Is Opening A Gorge New Place In The City

Sarah

Exciting caffeine-based news has hit us this morning with the announcement of a lovely new coffee shop coming to Portobello.

Even better news is that said coffee shop will be the city’s second place by Love Supreme, a truly lovely local cafe based in Stoneybatter.

The Top 10 Independent Coffee Shops In Town

If their new spot is anything like their current cafe (and we can assure you it will be), then this is going to become one of Portobello’s nicest places to stop by for a flat white and a home baked treat.

Coffee is currently roasted for them exclusively by Roasted Brown but we have some VERY exciting news for coffee lovers in the city.

We chatted to Ken and Katie from Love Supreme today, and Ken told us that they’ll soon have their very own roastery (in an off-site location) where coffee master Caleb Podhaczky will be in charge of creating their own personal blends to be sold both in cup in both cafes, and bags of the beans will also be on retail sale in the store – ah-mazing news.

Caleb honed his skills as head roaster of renowned Five Senses Coffee in Melbourne for six years, and for Ceremony Coffee Roasters in the US for the last four, so his coffee expertise is a very welcome addition to the Dublin scene.

The window seats in Stoneybatter are just made for people watching as you sip on your coffee – fingers crossed their new location will have a similar set up.

Ken said that while the Portobello shop won’t be an exact replica, “people will recognise it” – sounds good to us.

The guys behind Love Supreme have a great eye for design, and every time we pop in we get SUCH interior envy looking at the red brick walls, white hanging macrame plants and simple wooden tables.

Just look at this style haven…

The coffee here is always delish (their flat whites are one of the best to be had in town) and don’t even get us started on their baked goods.

Actually do, because we can’t not mention their legendary sausage rolls. Home-baked in the cafe bakery, they’re so flaky and tasty and meaty and MMM one bite of these and you’ll be addicted for life.

The new place in Portobello will bake fresh treats in house daily, including their mouth-watering breakfast pies, with both meat and veggie options available.

You need to try these.

Work on the new shop is still going on, so while we don’t have an exact opening date, we can tell you that all going well this new delight will be open in around one or two weeks – we’ll keep you posted.

This is exactly what Portobello needs, and we’re sure it will soon become a neighbourhood fave – these guys know what they’re doing when it comes to coffee.

Cannot. Wait.
