Ireland’s First Ever Poitín Bar Is Opening In Dublin Next Week

Sarah

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of decriminalisation of Irish Poitín, Ireland’s first fully dedicated Poitín pop up is opening in Dublin with renowned brand ‘Bán Poitín’.

The bar, ‘16-61‘, named after the year that Poitín began its illicit journey, will be hosting a six-week residency in a secret Dublin location (which will be revealed next Friday).

Taking all that they have learnt from London’s bar scene, Bán will present a list of Poitín cocktails designed to introduce a new generation to this notorious piece of Irish culture.

Expect weekly master classes, guest bartenders from home and abroad, exclusive spirits, stouts and porters and more Poitín than you’ll know what to do with.

The bar will reserve spaces for walk in’s but booking is strongly advised, as there’s a max 35 capacity at any one time.

Other drinks will be available at the bar with a focus on homegrown spirits, liquors, craft beers and local food, and the bar will open at 17.00 and serve late.

This is one experience you’re not gonna want to miss.
