PICS: There’s A Brand New Restaurant In The Guinness Storehouse And It’s UNREAL

If you haven't already been to the Guinness Storehouse, there's a good chance that "it's on the to-do list".

And rightly so – jam-packed with tourists though it may be, it's a genuinely interesting look at one of Ireland's most iconic brands, and one of our most famous exports.

But now, there's a good reason to bump it up top and make it a priority: the 1837 Restaurant, which recently opened up just below the famed Gravity Bar. This isn't just a seriously excellent feed by the standards of tourist venues; it's top-notch, full stop.

The focus is squarely on small plates, shared dishes and a few well constructed mains designed to match up with Guinness's beers.

Like this flatbread with brie and parmesan...

Or these UNREAL mushrooms on sourdough toast

Simplicity turned to magic thanks to a beautiful beef jus.

And of course, the oysters that taste like... the sea

So, so perfect and so insanely fresh – all the better alongside a pint.

While the Guinness Burger needs to be tasted to be believed

As does the creamy, cheesy decadence of this cauliflour

And once again, our native drink comes to the fore in the Guinness chocolate mousse

The only shame is that you can only access it by doing the tour (or as part of a private function if you're very lucky). But if they do choose to open this place up to the general public, they'll be on to a serious winner.

So if the Storehouse has been on your to-do list for a while, you've never had a better reason to tick it off.
