Two Dublin Pubs Have Made It Into The 2018 Michelin ‘Eating Out In Pubs’ Guide

Sarah

Two popular Ballsbridge pubs – Old Spot and Chop House – have retained their listings in the 2018 Michelin ‘Eating Out In Pubs’ guide.

Produced by tyre manufacturer Michelin, this year’s guide recommends some 470 top dining pubs spread across England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland of which 27 are new entries and all of which are selected for the standard of their food.

Here’s the Dublin hotspots…

The Old Spot

Offering delicious food, quality wines, select craft beers, bespoke cocktails, this place aims for a “welcoming, sophisticated yet relaxed ambiance”.

You can find The Old Spot at 14 Bath Avenue.

Chop House

There’s a major focus on steaks at this spot, with high-end pub grub on offer. This spot comes alive when the rugby’s on in the Aviva, as it’s just around the corner from the action.

You can find Chop House at 2 Shelbourne Road.

Speaking at its launch, guide editor Rebecca Burr (who also edits the famed Michelin Guide Great Britain & Ireland) commented: “This year we have seen so many pubs get a new lease of life by placing greater emphasis on food. It’s great to see pubs being rejuvenated this way as they are often the heartbeat of our towns and villages.”
