The popularity of cocktails is on the rise as people seek every more refined tipples across Dublin.
They come in all shapes and sizes but we thought we’d put together a list of the very best for you to work your way through.
Best not to take them all on in one go. Spread them out…
1. The Ferrero Rocher – Urchin
This beautiful restaurant on St Stephen’s Green opened with lots of fanfare and serving small plates of food. Thats all well and good but once you see that they serve this insane cocktail you’ll probably not be interested in much else!
2. Mekong Catwalk – Saba
Asian food which is absolutely amazing but they also do seriously tasty cocktails with a focus on fruity drinks that match the food. This one has Bombay East gin, kaffir limoncello, lychee syrup, lime juice and plum bitters. A delight.
3. The Coppinger Twist – Coppinger Row
A gorgeous restaurant that does some amazing casual food which is what you’ll come for but you’ll stay for the cocktails. Amazing drink made with Tequila Reposado, Campari, Antica Formula, Coriander Seed and Smoked Sea Salt
4. Bloody Mary – Super Miss Sue
Not the drink for everybody but those who do love it swear by it especially at the weekends. You can tailor it up to your own liking here and team it up with some epic brunch. A dream of a cocktail.
5. Key Lime Pie – Peruke & Periwig
Hard to tell if it is an actual cocktail or more of a dessert. The answer is somewhere in the middle and as soon as you walk into this Dawson Street bar you’ll never want to leave.
6. The Suffragette – Bow Lane Social
A wonderful place to unwind with some light food and some of the best cocktails in the city. This one has Pisco, Rhubarb Liqueur, Strawberry, Lemon, Egg White and Prosecco and is an absolute delight.
7. Molly – Delahunt
Most people know this as one of the best restaurants in town but their cocktail bar upstairs is the stuff that dreams are made from. This wonderful drink features…Pimms, Aperol, St Bernardus wit bier, lemon and sugar.
8. Becky’s Cobbler – Chelsea Drugstore
Great bar on George’s Street which has a huge range of spirits but there is only one drink you should be going for. A winning combo of Sherry, Vermouth & Amaro shaken to make summer in a glass and remind you what you’re missing out on.
9. The Real Italian – Farrier & Draper
Made with Tanqueray Gin, strawberry, basil, balsamic vinegar and pink peppercorns. The combination sounds unusual but as soon as you taste it you’ll be sold.
10. Espresso Martini – Drury Buildings
An unreal drink that we sampled and named the very best in it’s category. Goes down so smoothly.
11. The Dirty Wizard – Vintage Cocktail Club
The huge list of ingredients all blend together beautifully….Chili-infused Absolut Vodka, Gingerbread and Blackcurrant Liqueur, cranberry juice, fresh citrus, egg whites, with ginger nut rim, berry skewer and a fresh mint sprig. Perfect setting and so many cocktails to choose form but you can’t go wrong with this one.
12. New York Sour – The Blind Pig
You always know you are going to get amazing cocktails when you come to this super popular spot. Their New York Sour with 1860’s Rye Whisky, shaken with fresh lemon juice, sugar, egg white and crowned with a splash of red wine is divine.
13. Queen Wolf – Liquor Rooms
Step down the stairs into one of the best venues for cocktails in Dublin. The seductive lighting and warm surroundings will make you never want to leave. At €11 this is one of the best drinks in town.
14. The Old Fashioned – The Exchequer
One of the most popular cocktails in all venues at the moment but we’d have to say the guys in here do it as well as anybody in the world. Pure theatre.
15. Margarita – 777
The place has made their name on this cocktail and the amazing food. That wonderful sour taste goes perfectly with the spicy food. The only issue here is how you can stop yourself drinking more of them. Have great deals on at times to get them for €7.77
