This Heavenly Jazz Brunch Is The Nicest Way To Spend A Sunday In Dublin

Sarah

Brunch has officially taken over our weekends, and pretty much our lives, but sometimes it all feels a little bit… Same-y y’know?

If you’re looking for a real treat yo’self way to spend a lazy Sunday in a way you wouldn’t usually, then you’ll be absolutely smitten with the The Shelbourne’s legendary Sunday Jazz Brunch.

Almost as much a sign of spring as the daffodils and crocus peeping out in St. Stephen’s Green, the Sunday Jazz Brunch here signals the start of long summer days and the joy of no longer having to wear a heavy coat.

This is a lavish brunch in a luxurious setting and such a faaaabulous mix of mellow music and tasty brunch favourites – oh, and snazzy cocktails too. Brunch isn’t brunch without a cocktail.

It’s in the No. 27 Bar & Lounge at the hotel, and the live jazz musicians add a charming vibe that makes brunch here a real occasion, not just another meal.

With a choice of signature brunch favourites from French toast to ‘The Shelbourne Full Irish’, the menu also features some excellent Irish ingredients, showcased to perfection.

Whether it’s the Lambay lobster and Charleville beef fillet with the surf’n’turf, or the delicious Sligo mussels steamed with shallots, cream and white wine in the moules frites, the dishes here are ultra-yummy.

Eggs Benedict with tender steak is a real stand-out on the menu, and something that I certainly haven’t tried anywhere else. It’s glorious.

Even the pics of them are drool-inducing, aren’t they?

And just look at the gorgeous surroundings of the bar you’ll be in… Sparkling chandeliers, mahogany wood and a view of the trees around St.Stephen’s Green.

Very swish.

You can play it healthy and get some revitalising juices available from the Juice Bar at €5 each, or go all out (and if you’re treating yourself to a slick jazz brunch then of course you wanna go all out) with a delectable cocktail from €13.

There’s a pineapple-infused pisco one, the Taylor Made It, and even a zesty tipple in a tea cup complete with edible flowers. SO pretty <3

No. 27 Jazz Brunch at The Shelbourne is served from 12.00 midday until 4.00 p.m. Sundays, with two sittings every Sunday – the first from 12 midday to 2pm and the second from 2.15 p.m, and if you’re already swooning at the idea of this we’d recommend booking as it does get fairly jammers.

This is a really lovely way to catch up with the gals or treat someone special… AKA yourself ammirite?
