According to the makers of these nootropic drinks (apparently the first in the world), truBrain, they were developed by neuroscientists for increasing focus. They’re only available directly from the makers, and not from any stores or supermarkets, so they’re not exactly out there yet.

Is it good for me?

Nootropics are also known as smart drugs, which makes them sound much scarier than they are. The umbrella term includes medication for cognitive disorders like Alzheimers, but also natural supplements and remedies that are believed to help your brain run at its best. The truBrain drinks contain the latter natural remedies such as Caffeine and L-Theanine (basically what you find in green tea, or oxiracetam and citicoline, which helps the brain use more energy). They’re like hardcore stimulants for the brain, so use with caution.

How much will it cost?

truBrain, the producers of these brain-wonder-drinks, sell supplies of 15, 30 or 60 drinks in monthly or one-time plans (ranging from about €50-€150), so you’re not likely to pick these ones up in your local Spar.

What does it taste like?

These drink probably taste pretty similar to most sweetened energy drinks, though these have ‘natural’ sweeteners like cane sugar, blue agave, and they also include monk fruit and mangosteen for flavour.
