Trying to decide where to get a nice dinner over the weekend? We've got you covered.
You need to go to Richmond in Portobello. Here's why...
Inside, the place is the epitome of understated cool. An open kitchen pass overlooks the restaurant floor, the walls are whitewashed brick and the seats are a mixture of wood and red leather booths.
A simple neon sign outside says it all.
Richmond has just won a Michelin Bib Gourmand, a huge honour. Basically, it's proof that their food is absolutely divine.
This is my go-to spot whenever I want a great meal with no fuss, beautifully plated food and unusual ingredients.
Their menu at the mo is full of rich, warming flavours, with dishes to drool over like the glazed suckling pig belly, cheek, duck fat fondant, barley, Autumn vegetables, red wine & apple, and the fig pie, with buttered mushrooms, spinach, chestnut.
YUM.
If you haven’t yet made your way to this restaurant, you really should. Fair prices, amazing quality and cheery staff all add up to make it the definition of a neighbourhood gem.
You might want to book a table though, we reckon they'll be fairly hopping...
