This Retro Games Bar Opens In Smithfield Tonight And The Food Menu Sounds Incredible

Sarah

Launching tonight in a huuuge 6,000 square foot space spread over two floors, Token is on track to become Dublin’s slickest hang out spot yet.

What is Token, you ask? Well it’s a restaurant, bar, retro-arcade, pinball parlour and event space all rolled into one, and after getting funding from Kickstarter they’re finally opening the doors to the public tonight.

Original Arcade Machines in the space will certainly excite the 90’s fans amongst us and include Pac Man and Donkey Kong, and pinball leagues are planned to be held during the summer.

As it’s still a test launch (and they’re still waiting on their spirits license!), Token will only be serving beer and wine, but all food will be available and the arcade cabinets on the ground level will be up and running. The events room for community events, pinball parlour, and craft brew bar on the basement level will open later in about a month or less.

And O. M. G. The food.

They released a sneak peek of their menus over the weekend and we’re pretty excited to try these…

Not only do menu options have the best names ever, they sound feckin delish.

There’s a wild boar burger with Taleggio cheese, AKA the tastiest soft gooey cheese ever created, a braised beef shortrib hot dog, fresh salad bowls named after different strains of weed, and beer batter Reese’s peanut butter cups.

Oh yes – this seems like it’s gonna be the new spot to go to for insane comfort food.

You can book in advance to come along to this new spot in Smithfield (they recommend you book so that you won’t be waiting for a table, but walk-ins are still welcome), which you can do so here.

It legit takes two seconds so you may as well be sure you’ll have plenty of space to chow down.

Token will be open 4pm – 11pm on weekdays & 4pm-midnight on weekends, and we have a feeling this is could just be Dublin’s new fave hangout…
