If you're looking to travel outside of the city centre, Howth hosts a bustling restaurant scene that makes the ideal location for a romantic date.
I decided to check out Aqua with my other-half over the weekend for dinner after hearing so much about it.
The seafood restaurant is a favourite with locals (always a brilliant sign) and has also attracted visitors from all over for the last 15 years.
Located at the end of Howth's West Pier, the sea views to Ireland's Eye are unbeatable.
I'm not a massive fan of seafood but Aqua does offer a wide range of fresh Irish fish if that floats your boat.
I opted for the chargrilled corn-fed chicken supreme which came with onion, bacon and mushroom and looked as beautiful as it tasted.
For dessert, I'd highly recommend their Classic Crème Brûlée which came with a raspberry sorbet.
It's a busy spot - meaning there is that little extra waiting time for the food to come out, but the view takes the edge out of the wait.
Although it's renowned for its seafood menu, if you're not a fan like myself there is plenty of meats and sides on offer - so you are bound to find something you like.
The candlelight, amazing views and good buzz made this the perfect spot for a cosy, romantic date night.
If you haven't been to Aqua - it's definitely worth a visit, particularly for a fancy date night with your beau. Don't leave it to chance though - the restaurant is always heavily booked. You'll see why when you get there!
