This South Dublin Hotel Is The Ideal Spot For A Seaside Break

Sarah

Nothing can beat a weekend spent chilling in a gorge boutique hotel, with views of the clear blue sea and an afternoon spent in a rustic outdoor garden bar overlooking a harbour.

It might sound like I’m talking about an exclusive hollier in the South of France, but you actually don’t have to travel far to experience this li’l slice of heaven.

As in seriously not far, like only down the DART line to Dun Laoghaire far to the chic Haddington House Hotel, an 1800’s townhouse that has been converted to host 59 rooms, an Italian restaurant and a garden bar that serves wood-fired pizzas.

I stayed here recently while at a wedding in the area, and it was a really impressive experience from start to finish.

From when you walk up the steps into the understated but stylish lobby, you just know this is going to be a super chilled place to rest your head (and quaff a few ice-cold cocktails) for the weekend. The reception area is an interior dream with Art Deco finishings, and has a fireside Library Bar too.

Pretty slick hmm?

Rooms range from Classic to Deluxe, which have a fab view of Dublin Bay…

All rooms come with a Nespresso machine (which was much appreciated the morning after the wedding lemme tell ya), and super cosy Foxford wool throws which is a real luxe touch.

Also the curtains block out every single little bit of light which is exactly what you want for a great sleep…

The Hut Bar in the garden is the ultimate place for an afternoon drink (or three…)

Part of the hotel’s Oliveto restaurant, you can be sipping on a glass of Italian vino and gorge on tasty treats such as scallops, seafood risotto or wood-fired pizza with turisto salami, house pesto, artichoke hearts, sun dried tomatoes, pistachio,
parmesan crisp, thyme & rosemary.

YUM.

Looks incredible doesn’t it? And it is, it really is.

Rooms start from just €85 – an amazing price for what is honestly an amazing little hotel.
