6 Of The Best Places In Dublin To Get Yourself Suited And Booted

jo

Call it the Conor McGregor effect, but suiting up is back.

Unfortunately that dad-suit you’ve been toting around since your debs just won’t cut the mustard, so we’ve gone and rounded up the best suiting and booting emporiums in town.

Down tools; here are 6 brilliant spots to get your gladrags, lads.

1. Louis Copeland

Let’s start with the big hitter; the Godfather of tailors.

The original Capel St boutique has been dressing the likes of Conor McGregor, Daniel Day-Lewis, Michael Caine, Jon Voight, Mathew McConaughey and Tom Hardy pretty much since the dawn of time, so you can be damn sure they know a thing or two about suiting up.

If you’re fond of yourself you’ll invest in a suit here – it’ll cost you, but you’ll have it (and look classy) forever.

2. Dorian Black

We’re lazy and we know you are too, so Dorian Black on South Anne’s Lane is brilliant. They have everything here from black tie, white tie and debs to basic shirts, shoes and bowties.

The team take pride in finding you the perfect fit, and there’s a really reasonable price range whether you’re splurging or keeping it real. An excellent one-stop shop.

3. Reiss

This is one for the Eddie Redmayne admirers among you.

Reiss have the best selection of slick, slim-cut suits in town. Don’t be fooled by its highstreet status; these guys do a mean skinny suit in a range of bang-on-trend colours. Very suave.

4. Brown Thomas

Some of us are suckers for a label, and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with it. Hit up BTs and you’ll have the best Paul Smith, Tiger Of Sweden and Hugo Boss threads at your fingertips. Need we say more?

5. Harlequin Dublin

Now for something completely different. The Harlequin vintage shop is a little gem, located on Castlemarket Street (better known as the street between Drury Street and South William Street, where Jo’Burger is located). Downstairs, you’ll find the most unique, quality menswear, including tweed suits and vintage accessories.

Definitely a talking point pocket square or two to be found in here.

6. Marks & Spencer

Wait! Come back! We know your mum shops there, but actually the M&S offering is pretty great.

David Gandy models their formalwear line, so you know it’s up to the mark. And, as a more affordable option, the M&S range ticks all the right boxes – a suit, shirt and tie starts from just €125. Nice.
