I Tried Lash Extensions For The First Time And I’m Totally Addicted

I’m not a very glam gal. I don’t know how to contour, I’ve never worn fake tan, and I’ve had a manicure once in my life.

The idea of eyelash extensions always intrigued me though, partly because I’m lazy and they would save me putting on mascara in the mornings.

So with Christmas party season providing an extra incentive to look purdy, I decided to try them.

I headed out to an independent lash studio in Kingswood, run by a Canadian woman called Kaleigh.

She only moved to Ireland a year ago but had great reviews so I didn’t feel too nervous about putting my precious eyes in her hands.

When I got there she welcomed me in and made me a hot water bottle to keep me cosy as she worked, which was really sweet.

I was very grateful for it because in the end I was lying down for over two hours. It wasn’t a quick process but between snoozing and chatting to Kaleigh, I wasn’t too bored.

She was very good at explaining what she was doing and checking if I was ok, which I was apart from some mild stinging and watering after I first opened my eyes.

I had chosen the subtlest set of classic mink lashes available, but when I looked in the mirror I couldn’t believe how long and fluttery they were.

I thought they would be heavy and annoying but I can’t even feel them and I’ve had no irritation at all.

I do have to be a bit more careful when I’m taking my make-up off and try not to rub my eyes when I wake up in the morning. But getting ready is so much quicker and I look wide-eyed and fresh all the time!

Now I just need to find the money for my new addiction…
