As you’ve probably learned by now, planning a wedding in many ways is akin to grabbing handfuls of money and throwing it all from a great height shouting dramatically, “Take me, take me for everything I’ve got!”
Part of this is making an allowance in your budget for gifts for your groomsmen. Generally small(ish) and sentimental, these tokens are a lovely way to show your best lads what they mean to you.
And so, because choosing a groomsman gift that’s not cheesy – or crap – is actually harder than you might think, we’ve compiled an edit of cool, affordable stuff they’ll actually like:
1. Dublin Pub Print
Framed, this Clover Rua print from Article would be a nice little nod to the great times you’ve shared in Dublin’s many drinking establishments.

2. Monogrammed Leather Flask
A flask is always a good idea for a groomsman gift. Especially this stylish monogrammed leather one by HORD.

3. Gobshite Mug
Because Irish people like to show their affection through the medium of slagging and/or mugs. We love this ‘Gobshite’ one by Grand Grand.

4. Fair Play T-Shirt
‘Fair play’ is pretty much the highest compliment one can bestow upon another, so in lieu of a thank you card for their groomsmen duties, why not show your appreciation with this tee, also by the guys at Grand Grand.

5. Hyde ‘1916’ Whiskey
You can’t go wrong with a bottle of good whiskey from the Celtic Whiskey Shop, like this 6-year blend by Hyde, specially released to coincide with the 1916 anniversary.

6. Wooden Engraved Cigar Box
This snazzy cigar box from Swanky Badger Design is a pretty cool keepsake. Just fill her up with a few cigars and you’re good to go.

7. Retro Shaving Kit
We love this cool retro shaving kit from Teals Prairie. It comes with a shaving brush, stand, monogrammed razor and wooden box – and to make it personal you can have their name engraved on the outside of the box’s lid, and a longer inscription etched on the inside.

8. Personalised LEGO Minifigures
This is a class idea. Just send in photos or descriptions of your groomsmen to Minifigure Me and they’ll create custom LEGO figurines that look just like them. And if you want, you can get them mounted onto frames too.

9. Customised Whiskey Decanter
Because deep down who doesn’t want to feel like Kevin Spacey in House of Cards? This customisable decanter from Swanky Badger Designs is classy, stylish and comes in a cool gift box.

10. Shane Gavin Print
We love Shane’s pixellated prints of Irish and Dublin landmarks, like this one of the Poolbeg chimneys. Available from Jam Art Prints, they’d make a great gift idea for any groomsmen who are into art.

11. Bespoke Bow Tie
Lots of groomsmen these days are rocking bow ties instead of a tie. So why not have theirs double up as a gift? Try Cork’s Beau Bows. As well as having a range of quirky handmade bow ties on their site to pick from, the guys can work with you to create your own bespoke design.

12. Sheridans Farmhouse Cheese Selection
We know we said no cheesy gifts, but a mouthwatering cheeseboard from Sheridans Cheesemongers is another kettle of fish altogether. Cheese lovers will go mad for this classic selection of Cashel Blue, Durrus, Killeen Goat and St Gall.
