No ticket for U2? No problemo, (Achtung) baby…
The Church bar in the city centre is having a very special pop-up U2 night for all those poor unfortunate souls who missed out on seeing the lads play in Croker this coming weekend. So eh, half of Dublin then.
With tribute band U2 BABY performing all the hits, it’s sure to be alllllmoooost like the real thing. Almost-member of U2, and successful composer Ivan McCormick has said of U2 BABY: “I had to do a double-take when I saw these guys take to the stage in a crowded, hot and sweaty bar… With a few pints of Guinness blurring the edges – no pun intended – I was transported back to ’78 and the Dandelion Market gigs.”
A fully synchronized and impressive light show will also enhance the “U2” vibe for the performances.
The Joshua Tree bonanaza kicks off in The Church on Thursday evening, with PopUp Bar “UltraViolet” named in memory of U2 fan Alan Robins who sadly passed away this year, aged 49. Alan’s favorite U2 song was Ultra Violet and a fan made tribute video will be shown over the weekend to honor Alan.
With The Official U2 Fans Touring Group and various other fan groups involved from around the world, this is sure to be another special event for any U2 fans.
