First off, can we just say how grim it is that the cheapest apartments in Dublin city centre-ish we could find on Daft.ie are all priced over 1k a month?
You’d have to be either willing to spend half your salary on rent every month or be lucky enough to have an other half to split the rent with you.
That said, you’ve either clicked into this article because you can cough up the grand or you just like to torture yourself by looking at apartments you can’t afford.
We’re in the latter club. Welcome. Join us.
Here’s five apartments in Dublin for less than €1,100 a month that you wouldn’t go crazy living in:
1. Kimmage Road West, Perrystown, Dublin 12: €1,050
This one-bed, one-bath ground floor apartment has an open plan living, kitchen and dining area, large bathroom and large bedroom opening on to a private patio to the rear.
Oh, there’s also a parking space included too which is nice.
2. Oakwood Road, Glasnevin, Dublin 9: €1,100
This “spacious granny flat” comprises of a kitchen/living room, Double Bedroom, and an ensuite bathroom.
There’s also “ample parking” and a little garden, and it’s handy to get onto the M50 from its location.
Its listing also does say that the apartment comes furnished, so no need to worry about that empty bedroom.
3. Bow Bridge Place, Kilmainham, Dublin 8: €1,100
A fully furnished one-bedroom apartment within walking distance of the city centre includes an entrance hall, large open plan living / dining room, kitchen, double bedroom and a bathroom.
Let now be the time to say to all landlords to please take photos in natural daylight though. Dark rooms never look well.
4. Vernon grove, Clontarf, Dublin 3: €1,100
This one-bed apartment in Clontarf is located at the rear of a house but has its own private entrance.
There’s a hallway (yep, having a hallway is a selling point these days), bathroom with shower, kitchen/living room and a double bedroom.
5. Synge Street, Portobello, Dublin 8: €1,100
Sure, it’s pretty small, but you would get to live in the heart of Dublin. Portobello can be your garden.
This is a furnished one-bedroom with a kitchenette, living area, double bedroom and bathroom. Parking is available by on street parking permit and there’s shared laundry facilities in the building.
Sure, you could get a way nicer room in a shared apartment for less than these prices but if you can’t hack living with other people then these spots would do you well.
