Studio apartments can be very appealing.
Living alone, in your own space, with no roommates?
Heck yes, the dream.
However, when it comes to studio apartments in Dublin – the pickings are pretty slim.
We hit up Daft.ie today to see what the craic is, what’s on offer at the mo and would love your opinions on the below…
To studio or not to studio… that is the question.
1. Gardiner Place, Dublin 1
Price: €795 per month.
Description: Immediate move-in. Minimum three-month lease. Suitable for couple or single person. Located on top floor of a period house between Parnell and Mounjoy Square.
Our thoughts: The repetitive caps lock ‘DO NOT PHONE ME… JUST SHOW UP IF INTERESTED’ has bad vibez written all over it. No thanks.
2. Belgrave Square East, Monkstown
Price: €1,100 per month.
Description: Immediate move-in, minimum year lease. Modern studio apartment with loft/mezzanine bedroom area in elegant period house. Very bougie. Fully self-contained, includes wifi. Near Seapoint and Blackrock, good access to bus and DART.
Our thoughts: When we hear the words ‘studio apartment’ – this is the luxury we imagine. And we’d happily call this home if it were slightly cheaper. Love the high ceilings and fire feature.
3. Ballymun Road, Glasnevin, Dublin 9
Price: €800 per month.
Description: Told you guys all about this one earlier – READ: This Basic Studio Apartment In Glasnevin Will Set You Back €800 Per Month.
Our thoughts: It’s nicer than most, but too ‘spensive for the area.
4. Harold’s Cross Road, Dublin 6W
Price: €725 per month.
Description: Immediate move-in, minimum one-year lease.
“The accommodation consists of comfortable living/bedroom with fitted kitchen area and a separate main bathroom,” reads the Daft.ie ad…
Our thoughts: House looks pretty nice from the outside, but looks beyond grimy, old and cramped on the inside. For €725? It’s gonna be a no from us.
5. Upper Rathmines Road, Dublin 6
Price: €850 per month.
Description: Immediate move-in, minimum one-year lease. It has central heating, cable TV, washing machine, dryer, microwave and internet.
Our thoughts: Doesn’t seem too tiny, and €850 is apparently the new norm for Rathmines these days…
