PICS: Is This The Grimmest Apartment For Rent In Dublin Right Now?

Éadaoin Fitzmaurice

The housing crisis in Dublin right now is an absolute nightmare for people house hunting.

Logging on to Daft.ie and rent.ie every single morning just to be disappointed can become exhausting…

What’s even more disheartening however, is seeing places that are shockingly bad advertised for rent. This flat is Harold’s Cross advertises itself to have three bedrooms; one single, one twin and one double.

What baffles us is that the double bed seems to be squished into the grimmest looking kitchen/living area we have ever seen.

The kitchen has little to no storage and one of the presses is missing a knob. The fridge is within reaching distance from the bed and one of the chairs is wedged in beside the oven, obstructing access to anyone wishing to cook.

We can’t imagine having a lie in on a Saturday morning and having your roomie come in to make their breakfast in your room.

There are no pictures of the other bedrooms, which lead us to question whether that nasty looking couch is considered to be a bed. (We really hope not.)

To top it all off, the place looks downright dirty. Surely if you were trying to rent a place out you’d make a bit of an effort before putting it online, no?

The housing crisis has resulted in some awful looking properties being put out to rent online, but we think this one is right up there as one of the worst.
