‘Number 1 North Pole’ Is The Daftest Thing We’ve Ever Seen On Daft

James Fenton

The festive season brings out the silliness in all of us but this advertisement on Daft takes things to a new level.

A listing for Dublin known as ‘Number One North Pole’ appears to be suggest that Santa Claus is packing up and moving gaff.

Who knew he lived in Dublin this whole time?

The property is described as being in Dublin 2 and will cost potential buyers €750,000. To be fair, it does look pretty cosy on the inside.

The description reads:

‘The current owner, who is upgrading to a larger site nearby, has fitted out the property over hundreds of years to serve as a centre for his growing toy production and distribution business.

‘Finished in beautiful dark pine, to reflect the stunning natural surroundings, the property is south-facing in all directions – at the front, rear and both sides – offering round-the-clock sunshine during the summer months.

‘Traditionally used as a working residence, the property comes complete with state-of-the-art toy-making facilities, global surveillance equipment, a postal sorting centre with a dedicated email server, office space, reindeer stables and a separate residence for the live-in staff.’

Clicking on the accompanying map will take you directly to the National Wax Museum Plus on Westmoreland Street but we can’t say we’ve ever seen it there before.

The most confusing thing is that it costs upwards of €299 to advertise a house for sale on Daft. At least whoever is out of pocket is having a bit of craic at the same time.
